How to get to Schönbrunn Palace by U-Bahn

From Bahnhof Meidling (U6, S-Bahn and mainline trains) Schönbrunn is only a few minutes away on the U4 — handy if you arrive by train.

Overview
Schönbrunn Palace was the Habsburgs’ summer residence and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site: state rooms, an enormous baroque garden, the Gloriette on the hill and the oldest surviving zoo in the world. The U4 station Schönbrunn is on Schönbrunner Schloßstraße; from there it is about a six-minute walk to the main gate. For the zoo or the upper part of the park, get off one stop further on at Hietzing (Hietzinger Tor).
