Overview

Belvedere Palace is two baroque palaces with a terraced garden between them. The Upper Belvedere holds Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss”; the Lower Belvedere hosts temporary exhibitions. There is no U-Bahn station of its own: the nearest is Südtiroler Platz-Hauptbahnhof on the U1, about a ten-minute walk uphill to the Upper Belvedere. Easier still is tram D, which runs from Karlsplatz/Oper straight to the “Schloss Belvedere” stop and is covered by the same ticket.
