28 August 2026 — “service 05:00 to 00:30” was not true for any line

All five lines carried the same span. In the Wiener Linien timetable service starts between 04:39 (U6) and 04:51 (U1), and the last train runs between 00:45 (U4) and 00:58 (U2). Every line now carries its own times, and every station its own per direction.

28 August 2026 — the peak headway is not the same everywhere

Instead of a blanket “2–5 min”, the computed figure per line is now shown: U1, U3 and U6 reach 2–3 minutes on the central section in the morning, U2 and U4 3–4. Every station page breaks the headway down by direction and time band.

28 August 2026 — not every train goes to the terminus

This was nowhere on the site. In the timetable, about 47% of southbound U1 trains terminate at Alaudagasse rather than Oberlaa; the U2 (Aspernstraße), U3 (Westbahnhof) and U6 have similar short workings. Each station now shows the share per direction.

28 August 2026 — the line colours now come from the operator

They used to come from Wikidata, because the Wiener Linien design manual is not retrievable. The open GTFS carries them directly: U1 #E3000F, U2 #A862A4, U3 #EF7C00, U4 #319F49, U6 #9D6830. Because white on the U3 orange only reaches 2.8:1, the U3 and U4 badges now use dark text — the colour stays official, the lettering changes. The one exception is the U2: on #A862A4 neither white (4.24:1) nor dark text (3.66:1) clears the WCAG threshold, so the badge is darkened by 4% (#A15E9D, 4.56:1). The official value is in the table above.

28 August 2026 — the U3 engineering work had no end date

The notice said “until the end of August”. In the timetable the engineering schedule ends on 30 August 2026; from 31 August the U3 runs Ottakring – Simmering again. The notice now disappears by itself once that date has passed.

28 August 2026 — every station now has its own timetable figures

Until then all 99 station pages carried the same sentences about connections and services. They now show the first and last U-Bahn per direction for Mon–Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun, the headway per time band, the tram, bus and NightLine routes that actually stop there by number, and the direct ride time into the centre.
